Table lamp Quadrifoglio by Massoni for Guzzini, 1960

[SOLD] Beautiful and elegant table lamp designed by Luigi Massoni, 1960's. More specific: at the time Massoni led the design team of Guzzini, called Studio 6G. The design of this lamp is often wrongly attributed to Gae Aulenti. But Aulenti joined Guzzini 17 years after the Quadrifoglia was designed.

Quadrifoglio means 'four leaf clover' in Italian. This particular lamp is an early edition with three bakelite sockets that point downwards. Later editions had only one socket pointing upwards. The light of the early editions is much more evenly spread and very atmospheric. The base of the lamp depicts the stem of the clover and has two metal balls integrated in it. Flat chrome base. The shade is finished in the sought after orange/champagne - so not the brown (or common white) version.

A rare beast!

Totally original, undamaged shade, beautiful shiny chrome. Some minor scratches in the base plate. In full working order. Cleaned and checked. Marked on the shade.

Height: 52cm

Diameter shade: 50cm
