Space Age table/floor lamp, 1980

Space Age table/floor lamp, 1980

[SOLD] Rare table or floor lamp in typical space age design. Clearly inspired by deep space and depicting a planet with its band of dust and gas. In this era we got to hear about space by the first space missions that were undertaken by the US and shortly after by the USSR.

Two half plastic spheres, one yellow and one white, are seperated to simulate a ring around them. Between the spheres is an opening covered by white wire mesh. The lamp rests on four legs which remind of the legs of a Moon lander. All in all, very spacey!

This rare lamp is numbered by a stamp on one of the legs: number 2 from 25. It is made in the style of Ettore Sottsass and is probably made in the eighties.

It emits a pleasant light up and down, either with the white half up or down. You decide!

The lamp is in very good condition with no disformations of the plastic. One hairline at the corner of the white section (see photo). Newly wired with correct switch and cotton cord. It holds an E27 bulb.
