Sculptural table lamp by Fratelli Mannelli, Italy 1970
Impressive table lamp in travertin by the reknowned Fratelli Mannelli, which stands for "the brothers Mannelli" in english.
The brothers Mannelli became famous in the 1920's and 1930's with their Art Deco furniture with a strong design, luxurious materials and great attention to detail. They founded their business in Signa (near Florence) and specialised later on in products made from travertin. They are best known for their animal figures and lamp stands. Hallmark is their approach in abstraction of organic shapes and the way they make stone feeling tactile.
This lamp is a typical example of Mannelli's design language with the intention of making a hard, heavy and cold material look and feel soft, tactile and warm.
The handmade shade complements all these elements and ties everything together.
The condition is excellent. No damage to the stand or shade. New and stylish electrical cord fitted.
