Lounge chair Congo by Theo Ruth for Artifort, 1952

The Congo chair is a fine example of playful design from the 50s.

[SOLD] This chair was designed by Theo Ruth in 1952 for Artifort. Ruth was inspired by African chairs. This chair consists of two parts that keep each other in perfect and firm balance. The seat offers a lot of comfort due to the sturdy suspension that Artifort incorporated into their chairs at that time. A true eye catcher with its organically shaped legs in beech and upholstered in its original orange red fabric (a blend of wool and cotton) with dark grey woolen trimming.

Still in great condition with only some light fading of the fabric. No damages to the fabric or frame.
