Footstool by Dirk van Sliedregt, The Netherlands 1961

[SOLD] Footstool in wicker by the Dutch designer Dirk van Sliedregt for Gebroeders Jonkers, Noordwolde 1961. Inspired on Bauhaus, clean lines characterize his designs.
 
Dirk Van Sliedregt was a selfmade man: from carpenter to furniture designer to architect and finally to director of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
 
This foot stool is in outstanding condition. The original wicker has no defects at all, whilst the chrome frame is spotless. Only the underside of the legs has the usual sliding marks on the chrome.
