(Foot)stool by Giandomenico Belotti, 1970

[SOLD] "An incredibly long strand of spaghetti twisted around a fork."

Giandomenico Belotti

Rare (foot)stool designed by Giandomenico Belotti in the 70's. The "Spaghetti chairs" (see last photo) are better known but a matching stool is rare! Magnificient simple and elegant design with great comfort. Tubular and chromed frame structure with clear PVC seat.

Giandomenico Belotti (1922-2004) graduated in architecture from the University of Venice, and began working in research, restoration, city planning and industrial design.

The Spaghetti chair and stool are still considered as one of the most contemporary expressions of modern design. They are part of the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York.

This stool is in very good condition with almost no wear to the chrome frame. All spaghetti wires are intact. Reminents of maker label present on frame (Probably Alias). A very interesting piece of design history!

The chairs are sold.
