Bronze sculpture 'Resting Head' by Brigitte Wawoe
Vulnerability in bronze... An emotional and abstract depiction of a human head resting on a cheek by Brigitte Wawoe.
About the artist (1939-2025)
Brigitte Wawö was born in Heidelberg and lived in the Netherlands. She regularly traveled to Curaçao, where she worked as an artist. She was a sculptor but also worked with painting and glass art.
Brigitte works intuitively, and form matters to her most. In her stone and bronze sculptures she allows the material to reveal its hidden form.
Her style is mostly abstract, hinting at the form she sees and wants to bring out but never completely does. In every piece, she challenges the viewer to really look and find its essence.
Excellent condition, beautyful patinated surface in brown, grey and fertigree tones. Flat base in polished black granite. The sculpture is not fixed to the base.
